Objective: Raising funds to renovate a church
Strategy & Execution: The promotion took place in the month of December during all the Christmas festivities. To encourage people to attend and learn about the history of the church and the importance it brought to the community, the church advertised an open house through the public newspaper. The ornaments were displayed for sale at the open house, the beginning and end of all masses, and special Christmas events. A special promotion was created for the children during Sunday school to teach them about the history and importance of the church. The children at Sunday school were encouraged to bring ornament samples home to raise funds through family and friends. Lastly there was a Bingo night prepared in the basement of the church and the ornaments were sold at the entrance.
Conclusion: Through a combination of city funding and their pewter ornament campaign, the church raised $5000.00 towards renovating their community church.
