These days kids are so busy and have so many activities going on it’s hard to just enjoy some down time. Many mothers these days are running from one event to another just to keep the kids happy. Being away from home on Mother’s Day might be a little hard, but a hotel wanted to ease the pain for some mothers.

How it was Distributed: A popular hotel that receives a lot of business during Mother’s Day weekend – due to a large soccer tournament in town – wanted to do something for all those mothers who would be staying there that weekend. The tournament is a recurring event, and the hotel noticed it gets bigger every year. They wanted to do something out of the ordinary that would thank customers and acknowledge mothers during Mother’s Day weekend.

To break from the normal food gifts given as gifts, they chose Mother’s Day fortune cookies that come in a custom Mother’s Day Chinese box. The cookies have over 100 different loving messages, quotes and jokes about motherhood. On that Sunday as each family checked out, the mother was handed a box of the fortune cookies as a thank you from the hotel.

Result/ROI: The mothers loved the gesture and were blown away by the hospitality of the hotel. Many were so thankful and couldn’t believe such a big name hotel would go out of their way to acknowledge them. The cookies were a huge success, as many showed them off at the tournament. The feedback was so positive, most responded that they would stay at that hotel at next year’s tournament.
