Help Clients Celebrate National Wear Red Day

Heart disease, Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) in particular, is the #1 killer of all women, taking the life of 1 in 3 each year. In addition, it is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. The importance of heart disease awareness has grown in years and now as a nation we recognize February as National Heart Month, with National Wear Red Day celebrated on the 1st Friday in February.

Promotion: A Chairman of a local Bank had a long family history of heart disease and really wanted to do something to raise awareness and get the community involved. He decided to take advantage of February being National Heart Month. For the last 2 weeks of January, for every customer that came in and opened a new account or opened any type of credit with the bank, they were given a red heart awareness t-shirt. Throughout the whole month of February he gave to every customer a “I love to wear Red” rubber bracelet. His idea was that everyone would have red to wear on National Wear Red Day. Customers were not only surprised by the shirt, but people were now aware that the first Friday in February is National Wear Red Day. People were happy to pass this information along to spread the word.
