Objective: April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day this year and a gym wanted to help raise awareness. The gym runs programs for kids and adults of all ages, as well as special programs for agility, speed and muscle strengthening. Included are classes for children with special needs that help them with hand-eye coordination and overall muscle movement.
Strategy: Because not all of their clients know about the special needs programs, they wanted to bring awareness to their gym and the cause. A puzzle piece decal would be an inexpensive way to thank clients who donate and also bring about awareness at the same time. For every client that signed up for a speed, agility or weight training program, the gym donated 10% of the cost of the class to Autism Awareness in that person’s name and also gave them a puzzle piece decal.
Result: The clients were excited to hear the gym would donate their profits to the Autism Awareness fund, and they also appreciated the decal and the idea of awareness they were trying to bring about. Many of the clients spread the word not only about the generous attitude of the gym, but also that they have classes for special needs kids.
