While February may be National Heart Health Month, the heart comes in to play on another special day as well. February 14th is Valentine’s Day and of course you can’t help but think of the heart and love. While Valentine’s Day is more geared towards couples and love, it also gives you the opportunity to show your clients how much you “love” doing business with them.
Objective
A retail company wanted to increase sales with all their current clients, as they felt the winter months were dragging on. They also wanted to play on the fact that Valentine’s Day was coming up.
Strategy
They came up with the idea of wanting to say “I love doing business with you.” and decided to go with Heart Punch Out Picture Frame Magnets to send all their current clients and thank them for their business. While it had the love theme and a nice thank you, they also included a Valentine’s Day special for 20% off any item bought during the month of February.
Results
The results blew the company away. All their clients really appreciated the thought of the magnet and liked the play on words. They also appreciated the 20% off for the month. While the retail company did give a discount during February, their sales in March doubled due in part to the Valentine’s Day promotion.
