Years of Service Milestones

In your company everyone has one thing in common – they all have a work anniversary. All good companies make it a point to acknowledge this day for all their employees, or at least they should. This is a day that the employee should feel special and be thanked for coming on board and making a difference within the company. It is important for employers to celebrate and acknowledge anniversaries. One company took it a step further and really made sure their employees felt recognized on their special day.

Objective

A worldwide company created an Employee Appreciation Award Program. The company wanted to recognize employees who reached increments of 5 to 45 years of service. They needed an award that was easy to replicate each year.

Strategy
The award design had a global theme with custom designed packaging to reduce the risk of breakage during shipping. Each employee received the same crystal globe award; however the size of the base increased as the employees tenures increased. With each 5-year increment, a new base was given to each employee. The program recognized nine years-of-service milestones.

Result
The company remained committed to this 12-month project. They did not let the customer forget about the impact recognition programs have on employee retention. In the end, employees were thrilled with the award and looked forward to receiving the next level every five years.
