Challenge
A world-wide manufacturer of recreational vehicles wanted to celebrate the accomplishment of attaining $2-billion in sales. All sponsors and major clients were to receive a special gift that would commemorate the milestone. The client liked the idea of using a $2-dollar bill to represent the $2-billion milestone and thought it would be attractive if embedded in acrylic. The challenge was multi-faceted. Where would they locate new $2 bills and would they survive the embedment process? With an extremely short turnaround and a tight budget, a creative solution was needed.
Solution
Through experimentation it became clear the correct way to approach the award was to create a piece that would showcase the $2-bill, but give it world-wide appeal by using the flags of the countries where the manufacturer has clients. By using a direct-print process to create a $2 bill in its actual size, the final product not only looked colorful, but authentic as well.
Result
All sponsors and clients were pleased to be recognized with an attractive reminder of the milestone. This showed that whatever the time frame or the budget, a solution can be found that truly fits the bill.
