Strategic Objectives: Build a Stronger Internal Brand by Increasing Employee Engagement
A technology company was receiving low satisfaction ratings from its employees and customers. These low scores compelled the management team to conduct an employee survey. The results of the survey revealed there were significant short falls in the number of employees identifying with the vision, core purpose and values of the company. As a result of the survey, the following objectives were formed with the goal to achieve each in a 12-month period:
• Increase employee understanding of the company vision, purpose and values by 50%
• Increase employee engagement by 30%
• Increase customer satisfaction ratings by 23%
Tools: Goal-Setter Award, an award that represents and displays the core values and vision was created.
• Program Launch Luncheon: At the luncheon, all employees received a Glendale Goal-Setter Award. The leadership team chose this award because they wanted an award that would help communicate their corporate values and also create an extended “memory” for the employees.
• Presentations: Every employee who attended the presentations would receive a milestone block to add to their award. Each colored crystal block was etched with the name of the corresponding value.
Results: The company conducted another employee survey at the end of the year.
The results of the survey concluded the following:
• Employee engagement level to the company vision increased by 30%.
• Ninety-five percent of the employees could state the company vision, purpose and values.
• Customer satisfaction scores increased by 25%.
